Location: Sinchon (although Paris Baguette is everywhere in Korea)
Date of Visit: November 19, 2009
I always stare at the cute little cakes when I go to Paris Baguette but I’ve never found a reason to actually buy one. I was really close to buying a Hello Kitty cake at Paris Baguette back in August to celebrate Andrew Kim Appreciation Day but it was sold before I could even take out my money. So in honor of Esther’s birthday, Casey, Hannah, & I bought her a cake so we could eat it after her dinner at Outback’s. We walked around aimlessly looking for a cozy cafe to sit at and finally settled at Tom N Tom’s. We bought a drink & took the cafe upstairs. I ran to the 7-Eleven a few doors down to get spoons & forks lol.
When we bought the cake earlier in the day, we though the roof the little house was a giant cookie… turns out, it was sponge cake! There were layers of cake inside with cream & more cream. The little characters surrounding the house were so cute we couldn’t even eat them. The cake was moist, not to sweet, & went nicely with warm tea or coffee. Oh, we sang her a fabulous rendition of the birthday song in Korean… I started making up random words since I didn’t know it. People were staring at us strangely hahaha. More shots of the cake:
