My hobby is to make stuff for people. Something, anything… I look forward to holidays because that means I can make little presents for people. But sadly, I sort of don’t have anyone to make stuff for XD However, this hobby has resurfaced during my stay in Korea. An idea usually comes to me at an odd hour of the day (at 3am or when I’m supposed to be paying attention in class) & I’ll begin to sketch/plan out the project. Most of the time, the final results will look nothing like the sketches but that’s okay. Here’s my most recent project:
I was debating on what to get Casey for Christmas. It had to be sparkly, full of color, & fabulous. And besides a bag of glitter, I couldn’t think of anything that’d fit my current budget. So I decided to make her something! And knowing my taste in things, my present included: sparkles, color, & was fabulous. What better way to say “Merry Christmas & Happy New Year” than with a memo board collage of things that made 2009 awesome?
I opted to use an all black memo board because I knew I was going to use colors & I wanted it to POP. I didn’t really intend to have a theme for it but I guess it ended up being Casey’s rainbow necklace from Forever 21. I also bought those sticker dots in Korea without a real purpose but I figured… I’d find a use for it at a later time. And indeed I did. The rest of the memo board is pretty self-explanatory: pictures of me + Casey, picture of 명동, picture of 부대찌개, & flashy rhinestones.
I’m very pleased with the outcome of this project. I hope these projects will keep me occupied for the next 6 months or so. Upcoming projects I have in mind:
- Baby Vu’s 1st year scrapbook birthday present
- Hannah’s “Post-It note” scrapbook
- Tina’s 2NE1 birthday scrapbook present
