I am happy to report that negotiations are over and that everything went well. I got what I asked for and I am glad that I stood by my ground the whole time. Ideally, no one wants this job. It’s not coveted. But hey, someone’s gotta do it. And apparently, they wanted that person to be me. I warned them of my rather umm… “extreme” style of management. They were okay with it. They gave me a good offer and I took it. I signed the contract yesterday afternoon. I am now officially working at April for the next 2 years. That’s right, two, not one years. While some may see that as quite extreme, I see it as a job guarantee for the next 2 years.
My parents are very supportive of my decision. In fact, I think they are quite happy that I have a job for the next 2 years. And that I’ll be making more money. Which will eventually mean I can send them some (not that they need it). I think this job worked out very well for me. And while I will be dealing with less than stellar people, at least I am well compensated to do so 🙂
All in all, I am happy that things worked out. More money. Nicer apartment. My parents are happy for me. My friends are happy for me. Shitttt, I’m happy for me!
