The new branch manager at our company decided (sort of last minute) that we needed to celebrate our recent success and growth with a fancy 6-course dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Usually, my socially-awkward self would grumble about this, but this time, no. 6-course dinner & wine? I am there. It was held at MayChin, which is literally a few steps away from the main branch. I walked over with Chad드 and met up with Jess & her friend Vicky, who now works at the main branch.
Most of the April teachers were somehow shoved into the corner of the Korean staff room… I mean, there were other foreign teachers from main branch there but it was funny since 80% of the people were Korean staff. Overall, the meal was delicious and came it perfect little portions. It was enough so you could taste each dish. But it didn’t fill you up right away.
Course #1: Hai-vi soup
Course #2: Sauteed vegetables
Course #3: Fried Chicken Salad
Course #4: Sweet & Sour Pork (탕수육)
Course #5: Banh Bao & peppered pork
Course #6: Jajangmyun
Desert: Candied glutinous rice balls
All that food combined with never-ending wine made for a wonderful night with wonderful people. I always enjoy April’s company. We blend well outside of work as well. We sat near these new Chungdahm teachers. One of them looked at me and was like “You’re the girl from the blog.” WHY YES I AM hahaha. I should’ve taken a picture with/of them. April did a few toasts that ended with us singing the April song. We even got requests lol. After the dinner, I met up with Asuncion, Ian, and Richard to go out. Only after a Chungdahm hwaesheek will you catch me out and about on the town.
