During one of my usual donut sweeps at Dunkin Donuts last week, I ran across this. A bacon & cheese donut. I’ve heard of something like this when Paula Deen made a burger using two glazed donuts… but this took the concept one step further. It was essentially a plain donut with a layer of tomato paste in between. On top was a layer of melted cheese sauce and bits of bacon.
I expected the donut to be glazed to give it that sweet and salty taste…. but the donut was plain, making the donut completely salty. Even for someone like me who loves salty food, this donut was a bit strong. Even then, there was something satisfying about it. A level of satisfaction that can only come in knowing that you just consumed a bacon & cheese donut.
Priced at 2,300 won, it was one of the “special” donuts in the glass cases of Dunkin Donuts. The other special donut was pineapple-filled. It must’ve been a random daily special because when I returned the next day, it was gone. Overall, I was really glad I tried it. I mean, who wouldn’t? Bacon, cheese, & donuts… my 3 favoritest foods combined into one. Can’t go wrong!
