2013 is coming to an end & so is my time at my current school, Chungdahm April. Things are starting to feel more bittersweet as I enter the “lasts” of everything at my current job. The other day, as I fed my co-workers with cake and cookies, my boss Esther said “Doris, when you leave, who will feed us like this?” Oh man, that threw me for a loop and I started bawling like a baby inside.
As a long running joke between me and my students, I always have them say “GOODBYE FOREVER” at the end of their thinking project presentations. I say “GOODBYE FOREVER” when they leave for the day, but we all laugh since we know we’ll all see each other again the next day. Well soon enough, when I say “GOODBYE FOREVER”, I’ll actually have to mean it. Hopefully since I’ve been preparing them for 3 years, it won’t matter to them as much. Me on the other hand, I’ll wait until they all leave then cry like a big baby in my classroom.
