Because we can’t possibly eat at Kimbap Chungook everyday and because we are too lazy to cook, Asuncion and I spend most of our time trying out new brunch places in Daejeon. The one we tried this past Saturday is called “Pearl Smack.” I can’t really understand the name, but I really liked this place! The cafe itself is fairly small but everything about it is really cute. They have their logo on everything. You can tell a lot of attention and detail went into the making of this restaurant. Their menu consists of the typical sandwich, salad, and brunch-like items. Aside from that, their drink menu was really interesting as well. They had non-alcoholic cocktails such as mojitos and sangria on the menu as well. Asuncion ordered the cajun chicken salad which consisted of giant crispy fried chicken patties. I ordered the ham and cheese panini.
Both items were really good. My sandwich was huge! It even had egg in the middle and came with a side of shoestring fries. The pickles were actually real pickles – not the sweet kind you usually get out here. Asuncion’s chicken was really good as well. I’d want that chicken on top of some pasta or some rice. We also ordered the mint and lime mojitos. The size was pretty decent considering it was only 4,900won. Overall, a cute cafe and a decent place to hang out and brunch your weekends away!
