12월 이다! It’s somehow already December… Things have progressed rather quickly and I’m still trying to wrap my head around what has happened within the last month and how things will continue to change going into the new year. Let’s review my recent timeline:
Late October: randomly replied to a job ad posted online
1st week of November: interviewed for the job
2nd week of November: received the job offer
3rd week of November: accepted the job offer
It happened that quickly. The only difference this time around is my start date. The last time I interviewed for the job, I started it 1o days later. At least this time, I have 3 more months before I have to pack my bags and leave. Timing was a big factor this time as well. My loyalty pushed me to stay and make it work. My loyalty told me to put my pride aside and stay for the kids. In the end, my head told me that it was time to leave the sinking ship. For a good while, I was sad that things didn’t work out and that I wasn’t able to stay at my current job for the next year. It wasn’t my fault really… I was willing to stay. And for sure, they wanted me to stay. But they couldn’t respect me enough to even give me a clear answer. And if they didn’t have a clear answer about their so-called “concept”, it’s a sure sign that it’s time to move on right? They wanted me, but most likely was too cheap to afford me.
So here’s the start of my December. I haven’t told my kids that this is my last term yet… I have this desire to tell my 6th graders that I’m leaving soon, just like them. Then we’d have the excuse to go apeshit and incorporate KPOP into every CTP 🙂 I’m also dealing with my slight case of senioritis, or should I say… APRILITIS. It’s time to get realistic about my future here. And the reality is, I have no future here. I need to take care of my business and the best time ever with my babies. Then it’s deuces April.
In non-work-related news, I have been on a baking spree as of late. Between PMS and my lack of a life, baking cakes has become my new hobby. So far, I’ve made a carrot cake and most recently, a lemon cake. My next attempt will most likely be a classic chocolate cake. I will also be baking some snickerdoodles for the holidays. Until then, I will continue to troll Pinterest for more baking ideas.
