Dodgeball… oh dodgeball, I knew this day would come. I (with the help of Ms. Wright) introduced “dodgeball” to my class during gym time today. My biggest fear came true = tears were shed. Many tears were shed. First off, Sophia got hit in the face. Then Daniel got hit in the eye. Clara huffed and puffed in the corner. But she does that regardless of what we play so I guess that doesn’t count. Peter was also on the brink of tears… but when is he not on the brink of tears? Then Sophia cried again after being hit again.
I made a PSA about not being crybabies prior to the start of the game. I reminded them that we were playing with soft beach-like balls. I even bounced some off their heads to show them how safe they were. But damn, when you let a bunch of 7 year old Koreans go nuts in a library, shit can really go down. Surprisingly, Hyunsu (a child who has people-phobia), did not shed a single tear. So yay for Hyunsu making social progress!
