It’s here! March is here! Tomorrow, I will start (or re-start?) my first day of work at Dunsan Chungdahm April. I did my best to “prepare” my classroom on Saturday… but honestly, it still needs a lot of work. My classroom for this year is located on the 5th floor, which is newly acquired and shared with a photo studio. So during my free/break times, I can take glamour shots! (^_^) At first, I was a bit sad about being banished to the 5th floor, but then I realized that it was a blessing in disguise. The only other teacher using the 5th floor is my lovely co-teacher Grace. She is my ONLY co-teacher this term. How effing sweet is that??? I only have to communicate with one other person to successfully complete my job. The rest of my energy can be spent on the children.
My goal this year is to put my kids first. And with virtually no distractions on the 5th floor, I can already tell that it is going to be a great year. My schedule is AWESOME. I have my usual levels with the addition of Junior Master 1, which I have been wanting to teach anyways. The best part is that my Junior Master 1 class consists of kids from my favorite Sprout 3 class last winter term before I left. I saw some of them on Friday (Susan, Erika, Denny!!) but didn’t really tell them that I’d be teaching them. Then I failed to realize that the Korean staff called their parents that night. Denny’s mom stopped by so I got to formally meet her. She remembers me! My big boy Sonic is coming back from Europe and will be in class on Monday. One of Kristina’s PK girls – Jewel – will be joining my Sapling 1 class. It was Kristina’s last wish for me to teach Jewel. So exciting!
I will definitely be going into work early tomorrow. I have to print some things at Monami then go get some of that plastic film to cover the walls of my classroom. Gotta start building my spring bulletin board. I’m going for a “happy rabbits prancing in the forest theme” in honor of my babygirl Gaby. Mannnnn I miss my kindergarten kids so much. It’ll be so weird not seeing them daily and not wiping snot off their faces. I know they will all rock elementary school like the true thugs that they are.
