In early 2014, when I moved to Seoul, one of my favorite brother sister duos from Chungdahm April/Junior gave me this adorable succulent plant to take with me.
I kept it near my window and watered it once in a blue moon. It grew a bit, but for the most part, looked like it was hanging onto dear life. When I moved back to Daejeon last month, I took the plant back with me since I wanted to show Jewel how it was doing. About 2 weeks after being back in Daejeon, it randomly started growing at a rapid pace. Then, overnight, some weird shoot thing sprouted. Turns out… it was flowers!!
Based on what I’ve read on the Internet, this plant is called an “Aloe Blue Elf.” I see baby plants sprouting on the side as well so I will have to visit Daiso to find it a bigger pot to grow in. It makes me wonder… is moving back to Daejeon a sign of good luck for my plant? Is the air better in the countryside that is Daejeon?? Either way, yay for spring flowers!
