Having a few days off due to the MERS outbreak has allowed me to catch up on some much-needed blogging. Back towards the end of April, Wah came to visit! I never personally worked with Wah, but I met her through Grace and Asuncion. Wah had already left Korea by 2011, but came back to surprise Grace for her farewell party. This time around, she was stopping by Korea after a visit to China.
We had dak-gal-bi (닭갈비) on one night at the place near CDI. It’s not my favorite brand of cook the chicken, but it was still good. That Sunday after, we went to Vesta Buffet for brunch then walked to Gapcheon River. We somehow ended up under Expo Bridge. Then we walked along the river and found this really cool spot where they have grills for people to use. After that, we crossed the street to explore the Hanbat Arboretum (한밭수목원). It’s a cute garden with tons of flowers. We found this big open field where people grazed. So we grazed too! We took over this one porch swing and wouldn’t get off for a good hour.
After sunbathing, we cabbed it back to Gongcha at the Hyundai Itel to get some bubble tea. After taking up some space there, we headed back to Asuncion’s place to watch Whiplash. I also got to try some cool Chinese-flavored Pringles. Those were pretty magical. When we got hungry again, we went to the local galbijjim (갈비찜) joint down the street. So pretty much, we spent the whole day eating, grazing, and eating again. Haha, we really know how to treat our visitors to a good time. It was good seeing Wah again!
