Living in Daejeon does not mean you have to miss out on good food. If you’re in Seoul, the best buffets are the Shilla Hotel Buffet, Lotte Hotel Buffet, and Walker Hill Buffet. Daejeon has come up with its own version of a “Las Vegas” buffet. It’s the closest you get and in my opinion, it is worth every single won. The price for weekend lunch/dinner is 38,000won. Think about it. A meal at Outback Steakhouse typically costs the same price. At Vesta Buffet, you can gorge on everything from salads, fresh seafood, hot noodles, steak, soups, and dessert. They have a nice mix of Korean, Western, Chinese, and fusion food. The dessert bar is pretty impressive as well. Their appetizers are well-presented and best of all, you can eat as much as you want.
My favorite dishes (so far) have been: giant grilled shrimp, summer rolls, and the soup bowls. I’ve been here twice since moving back to Daejeon and I plan on visiting this place at least once a month. The only catch is that from the time you check in, you have exactly 2 hours to eat. I’ve never heard of a time limit at buffets, but with the way some people like to post up here, I get it.
