Another month has crept up on me once again. Ever since I got back from my MERScation, I’ve been busy making up classes on Saturdays. Saturday classes run from 1pm to 9pm with no prep period. This is also on top of working Monday through Friday. Next Saturday (July 11th) will be the last day of make-up classes. It’s going to be a shorter work day in that we only work for 5 hours, but the catch is it’s from 2pm to 7pm. We share the shuttle busses with Junior (my hagwon’s kindergarten) so we must work around their schedule. So incovenient since work is right in the middle of the day… But, one more week and I am done with make-ups. Last week, I made brunch for the teachers:
Aside from making up classes, I am trying to keep my shit together work-wise. There is always something to grade, input, or write. I am always grading writing notebooks or listening to some kid’s speaking homework. I had a vision of what my life would be like this year when I moved back to working at April. Unfortunately, that vision was fuzzy and the complete opposite of my current reality.
I’m doing my best to enjoy my life in Daejeon at the moment. This summer break, though, I am off to the land of diabetes for a week-long visit with my family. I am so excited to go to the Orange County Fair again after 5 years! Too bad Casey couldn’t make it home as well this summer. I’m also trying to work out a catch-up date with my dear chingoo Kristina. 18 more days until I fly out!
