To celebrate the end of make-up classes, I traveled to Seoul on Sunday to shop, eat, meet up with Martha, and talk shit. I took the 9:25am KTX thinking it’d be good timing. I promptly passed out for an hour since I had been going to sleep at 6am for the past week or so. Once I arrived in Seoul, my first stop was the Express Bus Terminal underground shopping mall. I wanted some cheap summer clothes and knock-off sandals. I managed to get a couple of items here and there. I could’ve gotten more, but the rows and rows of shops were too overwhelming. Plus, I was hungry.
I met up with Martha in Itaewon for a Thai lunch afterwards. Wang Thai never fails. We pretty much ate until we died, then resurrected ourselves and roamed around the sketchy streets of Itaewon. It was humid as fuck so we retreated to the nearest air-conditioned location, which happened to be Gongcha. After a bit more marinating at Gongcha, it was off to my personal Mecca aka the Foreign Food Mart. Even though I am going home in 2 weeks, I couldn’t help but buy some cheddar and sour cream Lay’s. Only 5,000won! That and some root beer. LOVE THAT SHIZZ.
I met up with my co-worker Cami and her friend Stephanie afterwards for dinner at On the Border’s. We used our gift certificates from Chungdahm April to pay for the meal. Thanks Chungdahm! I barely got through my meal since I spent the entire day eating and drinking. But On the Border’s is always so delicious.
We KTX’d it back home at around 10:40pm. I pretty much did not want to leave haha! But alas, I had work on Monday and I didn’t want to be an irresponsible tart. I’ll be back Seoul!
