Last Sunday, I made my last trip up to Seoul for the year. I went with the intent of sock shopping for Casey and rummaging through all the various holiday make-up sales for my mother.
I took the 8:51am KTX from Daejeon Station. I especially love this specific train because in addition to being a KTX, it’s also listed as the 산천 train. It’s a newer version of the KTX and much more spacious. Not that I need the extra leg room or anything, but it’s always nice to have extra space.
After arriving in Seoul, I dashed off to Itaewon to pick up a few baking supplies. The butter prices at Costco have been nuts this winter. Supposedly, there’s something about cows giving less milk in the winter and that therefore drives up the dairy prices. Strange, I think. The prices at the Foreign Food Mart were slightly less painful than that of Costco’s.
I met up with Martha in Myeongdong soon afterward to begin our skreet (Vusfalidet for “street”) sock hunt. The sock game is less impressive this year for sure. We stopped by 새마을식당 for a casual lunch before continuing on with the skreet shopping.
I think I did all my holiday shopping already… now to tackle cleaning my cave of a house before leaving for California next week…
