Part 2 of my fat freezing adventures:
1/28 – I went back to Alice Clinic after work for my 3rd round of Micool fat freezing treatments. This time the goal was to target my back thighs. I walked there after work and surprisingly, it only took me about 20 minutes. I was there before 7pm and was able to start my treatment a bit earlier. I had to lay flat on my stomach this time to treat the back of my thighs. They gave this inflatable travel-type pillow to rest on during the 45 minute treatment. I knew what to expect this time so nothing felt different. The only “shock” I felt was when they put the cold gel pad on my skin. The suction feeling was nothing out of the ordinary. It was like having a vacuum hose on your thighs for 45 minutes. After finishing up, the nurse cleaned the remaining gel off my skin and gave me the usual PSA of not going to the sauna and not doing heavy exercise for a week. Exercise is out of the question in the winter, anyways 🙂
1/30 – I decided that I also wanted to treat my lower stomach area since Alice Clinic positioned the two suction pads vertically on the sides of my stomach last time. Alice Clinic is usually filled up on Saturdays and it’s pretty much impossible without a prior appointment. So, I wandered down to the Timeworld area in search of another clinic. I went into Oracle Skin Clinic first, but it was filled with people right at 11am. So I walked across the street to MJ Clinic. MJ made me wait for about 30 minutes before I went in for a “consultation.” I already knew about Micool so it was rather short. The only disappointing thing about this place was the pricing. Their website advertised “38,000won per pad.” Apparently, that price is only available if you pre-pay for like 10 treatments. HMMM… I don’t remember seeing that on the website. Since I only wanted two pads, I ended up paying 50,000won + 10% VAT per pad. I bit the dust and paid since I really wanted to get started on my treatment. I did a bit more waiting and was finally taken to the back to change into gym shorts. The treatment room/area at this place was much fancier… although, it didn’t add to the experience in any way. After plugging in the Micool machine, the nurse on duty did her best to horizontally position the two suction pads on my lower stomach. For some reason, the suctions kept coming off. I don’t know if this was because the machine was not warmed up or if she didn’t know what the fuck she was doing. At Alice Clinic, they were pretty gentle when placing the suction pads on my skin. The suction was gradual, like it was starting up right. At MJ Clinic, I felt like the nurse threw the suction pads on my stomach and quickly pressed “START!” before it could fall off. She used a lot of pressure since the suction pads weren’t staying on correctly. Again, I don’t know if it’s because my fat was pushing it away or if she didn’t know what she was doing…
Supposedly, the stomach is the most sensitive area to treat because of all the obvious fat. When I treated my thighs, the intense suction feeling only lasted the first 2-3 minutes then faded into numbness. This time around, the intense suction feeling lasted the entire 45 minutes. It wasn’t anything unbearable, but it wasn’t the most comfortable feeling either. I was so scared of coughing since I was afraid of the suction pads suddenly popping off. After the treatment, I noticed that my stomach was super red – the redness was not that noticeable during the other treatments:
It’s currently the day after, and all the redness has disappeared.
Overall, I am happy to be doing this. South Korea is the best when it comes to cosmetic surgeries so I’m glad to be taking advantage of the awesome prices. I will be going back to Alice Clinic on 2/20 to do a second round on my inner and back thighs. If they have time, I’m going to ask them to go ahead and do my stomach as well. After that, I will continue my third round of treatments in Seoul. If I have to, I guess I can make a Saturday trip down to the Daejeon. I’ve been looking up places/prices in Seoul and they are comparable so I shouldn’t have a problem. Until next time!
