The lunches at work have been really good lately. We don’t always have the most glamorous lunches… actually, the school lunches have been less than stellar. I only opt in on the meal plan out of covenience. However, the “catering” company have recently stepped up their game.
The lunch above consisted of some sprouts, rice, red sauce, radish soup, deep fried pork, and kimchi. Bibimbap is always one of my favorite meals. There is nothing mysterious about it and fried pork is always a big plus.
This meal had the basic radish soup, rice, sauteed chicken with vegetables, radish kimchi, bean sprouts, and takoyaki. The soup was simple, the sauteed chicken wasn’t overaauced, and takoyaki as a side dish was surprisingly delicious.
Yesterday’s lunch consisted of rice, mustard greens soup, bulgogi and rice cake stir fry, tofu, pancake, fried chicken, and mustard greens kimchi. I’m a big fan of mustard greene so this was perfect. Again, the standout point of this meal revolved around the fact that nothing was oversauced or mysterious.
My co-workers and I have come up with a “Poly lunch rating system.” What would be a “9” at Poly would be a real-world 4.5. It’s kind of scary to think that a lot of our lunches have been Poly 5’s… aka real world YIKES.
Well, I hope the lunch providers are listening. Whatever you are doing to revamp your menu, keep that shit up!!!
