I absolutely love Lunar New/ Chinese New Year/ Tết/ 서날. It’s like a second chance to start the new year again. No one has time to get their shit together by January 1st… but late January to mid February?? I got this. My resolutions are in order and I am ready. This year, I have been blessed with a 5-day weekend for this wonderful holiday. I had every intention of traveling to Vietnam, but the truth is.. I AM TIRED! Also, I am also need to clean my current nest to get ready to move into a new nest. That’s right, I am moving… for the 4th year in the row. Luckily, this time, I am only moving about 3 minutes away.
The Thursday before vacation, we had a Seollal party at school. The kids didn’t wear their hanboks this time around. I did, though. We made a variety of crafts and taught them how to properly bow to their elders. That combined with monthly tests made for a very chill Thursday before vacation.
Since then, I’ve been sleeping in, chilling at cafes, and cleaning my apartment. I did make some traditional Vietnamese food to celebrate the new year.
I still have another day off tomorrow… I really should buckle down and clean up my place. I might make a surprise trip down to Daejeon to say hi to Esther and my April kids. I feel like teaching a Seed 1 lesson again haha.
