I started the new year off with a trip to Target to pick up some more goods aka FOOD. I also went to Target since well, WHY NOT. I picked Breakfast up some Beggin’ Strips because he’s the best dog ever. He made the best “BACONNNNN!” face when he saw the bag.
I took a break for lunch before going out to shop again. I felt like this vacation was too rushed and purely dedicated to shopping. Winter days are shorter and I felt like I had less time to do what I wanted. I hung out at home for a bit and then went to dinner with my dear old friend Tina. We went to a few crab places before settling at Crazy Crab down the street from our houses. It is always a good time catching up with her. Not to mention, the food was DELICIOUS.
After dinner, we went to this nerdy place appropriately titled “Turtle Tea.” They had a variety of teas along with typical boba drinks expected of an asian coffee joint. If I ever move back to America, I am so opening up one of these places. Overall, a good time hanging out with my dear friend and a great way to spend the first day of the new year.
On Friday, I woke up to an awesome breakfast. My mom bought me some dim sum from the local market. My brother also bought me a carne asada burrito. That burrito was the best thing I tasted all vacation. So effing good! The dim sum was subpar since it was from the supermarket food-to-go section. In a way, it’s a good thing. If the dim sum was too delicious, I would still be craving it right now. But since it was so-so, I’m not thinking about it too much hahaha. After breakfast, my mom took me shopping around town. We went to Target, 99 Cents Store, Dollar Tree, and Walmart. That evening, she dropped me off at my favorite hair salon (Tryst!) to get my hair colored and cut. My hairstylist this time was a sweet lady named Lynn. My usual person was there as well. I love that they remember me even though I stop in once a year. I decided to dye my hair a purple-black color since I like to go dark for the winter. The end result? This:
I wandered over to Stater Bros. afterwards to wait for my mom and pick up some last-minute snacks. I bought a few of those delicious glazed fruit pies. Cherry pies are bombbbbbbb! I went home and ate another Vietnamese sandwich since time dwindling down and that shit was delicious.
I woke up early the next morning since I had to be out of the house by 8am to catch my 11am flight. My mom also had to leave for San Jose so she didn’t get to take me to the airport 🙁 After hanging out with my dog for a bit, I changed and said goodbye to my mom. My pops took me to the airport and helped me check-in. While waiting for my flight, I bought some goods at the duty free shops. My 13-hour flight back to Korea was AWESOME. It felt even shorter than my 10-hour flight back to America. Overall, I had a wonderful vacation. It was so good to be back home after 1.5 years. Winter did make the days seem shorter. I think I like going home in the summer better. The sunshine makes lounging and driving around much more enjoyable. I am definitely going to try and go home again this summer. Good times!
